The authentication of Chinese antique ceramics is not an easy task and it takes years of experience to learn, however, there are ways and means to master the skills elaborated as follows: >Foot ring It is the base of the object. A very first step in the process of authentication. Foot ring occupies 50% of the scores. >Body It is materials of the object which always looked hard and dry for the genuine antique. >Shape The shape of the antique provides the clues to date. >Mark It is often found on the foot ring which also provides clues. >Shining of the glaze The glaze of the genuine antique is not as shining as the fake antique. >Touching of the antique The glaze of the genuine antique should be as smooth as the skin of a baby and its' weight must be appropriate , those weight too heavy or too light are fake. >Stroke of painting The stroke normally painted smoothly and naturally for the real antique >Pattern or decoration Every dynasty had its own ways of pattern or decoration which therefore provide clues to date.
